Dr. Vinod Raina is one of India’s most esteemed medical oncologists, with over four decades of experience in the field of oncology. A leader in his specialty, Dr. Raina has significantly contributed to the treatment of various types of cancers, including breast, lung, gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological cancers, as well as lymphomas and myelomas. His impressive career began at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, where he served as Professor and Head of the Medical Oncology Department.

Throughout his career, Dr. Raina has gained a reputation for his extraordinary expertise in cancer treatment, particularly in breast cancer, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal malignancies. He also has specialized skills in bone marrow and stem cell transplants, having personally performed approximately 400 transplants for different cancer types. His dedication to advancing cancer treatment is reflected not only in his clinical work but also in his research pursuits. During his tenure at AIIMS, Dr. Raina was the Principal Investigator for around 50 major research projects and played a pivotal role in cancer research and clinical trials.

In addition to his clinical and research contributions, Dr. Raina has mentored nearly 70 medical residents and DM students, many of whom have gone on to occupy leading positions in oncology both in India and internationally. His role as a mentor has shaped the future of cancer care and research, making him a key figure in India’s medical landscape.

Dr. Vinod Raina’s journey took a significant turn in 2013 when he joined Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) as the Director and Head of Medical Oncology and Haematology. His leadership and expertise led to his promotion as Executive Director in 2017, followed by his appointment as the Chairperson of Oncosciences at Fortis Healthcare in 2020. In these roles, he has been instrumental in driving forward innovative cancer treatments and improving patient outcomes.
